The catch-all page for plot inquiries, NPC threads, investigations, player plots, plot suggestions, and everything else under that banner. Frequency of replies to NPC thread requests will be subject to mod availability, but we will do our best.

INVESTIGATIONS

This is where you come to seek out conversations with NPCs, have your character investigate the setting, or otherwise declare that your character is doing something we should know about. We are open to doing unsolicited NPC call-out threads but reserve the right to cut them short/handwave if they don't seem to be going anywhere or to limit their scope if we are overburdened. NPCs are not always guaranteed to be up for prolonged conversation, but you can try. To attempt to contact an NPC please put their name in the subject line. For conversations of general plot importance, we may ask you to make an closed log.

For investigations, you can freely use this page to have your character seek out information about the characters, setting, or plot. We do ask that you keep investigations to 1-3 inquiries at most, and to have those inquiries be somewhat related. If you want to investigate things that are completely unrelated, please put them in a separate comment. Additionally, please be specific about the approach your character is taking to find out information; their method will greatly impact how well it goes for them.

PLAYER PLOTS

Aion Teleos is designed to be open to player plots, and would be glad to accomodate them! Let us know in a comment below that you/your character is doing and how you'd like to approach it as a player run event. Please put the words "Player Plot" in the subject line.

PLOT SUGGESTIONS

If you don't specifically want to run a plot yourself but have some vague ideas of an event type you think would scratch an itch for the game, please let us know. We don't guarantee we'll use these ideas, but we will keep them in mind when designing future events.

We would be happy to facilitate Childe (and/or Kaeya) working up to a Bebir companion. To get into the Black Market pet trade in Achamoth, they will first need an in to the markets overall. Though the Regent let the markets self-regulate and is mostly uninterested in the deals being bartered, Achamites do not always have the best sense of what commandments are from the Regent and what commands are simply from influential government officials. They'll be hesitant to invite Aions in for fear that it will draw the Regent's negative attention.

That being said, Childe and Kaeya would have an easier time sliding in by playing to needing more mundane items that could help them in their greater cause. (Think weaponry, ingredients, etc.) If this is an avenue you think they would follow, then it could lead to them being able to attend an underground trades faire where they could see the Bebir for the first time. In order to have more frequent visits they would need to agree to work with a seller (not necessarily of Bebir at first) and build trust. Would that be of interest?

Hi mods, sorry for taking so long to get back to you. Thank you for your patience and we are more than happy to be wait for a reply at your convenience to this information! Absolutely no rush.

Here's a general outline of what Kaeya's player and I are thinking in order for them to get an in with one of the sellers in the black market for access to the Bebir.

1. With Childe and Kaeya both well-versed in underhanded/shady/underground dealings back home and their undeniable usefulness, they are well aware some pretty valuable mundane items can be picked up in a black market and it would make sense for them to start searching for things. Initially, both Kaeya and Childe will be very interested in the weapons that may be available, especially since they are still not familiar with all the places and cultures Horos has to offer.

With Amos' interest in the guild in Godsblood for his hopes of a weapon, Kaeya and Childe are going to at least hope to catch a glimpse of what other places may have to offer that the Citadel lacks. They're going to focus on more traditional weapons, but would also be very interested in any special poisons or potions that may be useful to tip their weapons with during battle. Even if such things can't harm aions in the end, it would still be helpful in more mundane missions when dealing with the populace and making things like the secret policing in Venera go more smoothly and stealthily even if the Pleroma get themselves involved. They would be interested in any unique weapons that the black market has to offer, but when it comes to potions/poison specifically arrows and/or a thin blade/knife that can retain a coating of those types that may induce things along the lines of :

• drowsiness
• small hallucinations to prevent a pursued target from being able to easily escape
• something that causes temporary numbness of the limbs that makes it extremely hard to make use of a weapon, general agility and balance.
• a poison that could induce temporary blindness like flash bombs would, but instead does so by attacking the nervous system

2. They aren't explicitly going to befriend Bebir sellers at first, we decided, so they will be sincerely interested in getting trust of a seller in general without initially being interested in the pet trade. We thought about ways to gain a seller's or sellers' trust and came up with the idea they could potentially do it by offering to provide the seller(s) with exotic or difficult items. They would be the type that are so dangerous to obtain that normal Horosian bounty hunters won't bother with unless given an absolutely insane bounty, which even then often ends in failure. We think the two aions would definitely propose it in a way of "you scratch our backs, we'll scratch yours in a way that actually really benefits you personally in a way no one else can."

We don't have any exact suggestions for the bounties/missions/treasures they'd go after but we're hoping if this type of exchange would be valid for gaining seller trust, that you could help us with details if there’s anything specific they should be working towards. Otherwise, we can always come up with them too.

3. Once Kaeya and Childe prove they’re worth the risk, they’ll be invited to an underground trade faire (as suggested) where they’ll see the Bebir for the first time. We're assuming the Bebir would be pushed as extremely rare and exotic which would have Childe and Kaeya pinged, especially if they successfully gain trust amongst a seller or sellers for obtaining them rare and exotic items. Once they see the Bebir’s situation and learn more about them, they'll ultimately be interested in purchasing them to free them. However, their prices are likely (?) way above their paygrade as agents even combined, so they'll start discussing how they might be able to smuggle them out while otherwise continuing to try and make some worthwhile connections in the black market and its other areas for purposes actually pertaining to the Regent's cause.

We of course are more than happy to modify it or otherwise think of additional/alternate details as deemed necessary for them to ultimately be successful.

We love the idea of Childe and Kaeya being procures of specialized items! As Aions they are more powerful than the average Achamite.

If they are feeling up to it, they could be sent to the mountains of Sustellus and steal something of a large creature that would be used in the creation of weaponry. We can introduce a new creature for them to encounter to be their first "big break" in making an impression with their contact. Please let us know if there are any specific phobias or lines that we should take into mind when creating the creature. Achamoth has several large arachnids we have not put on the bestiary yet.

Overall we think that this path sounds very workable. You are correct in that the Bebir would be expensive and there would be some hesitance in selling them to high profile figures like Aions, however at that point Childe and Kaeya will likely be more well-known in the Black Markets in general. Once you get close to that point you can let us know.

Hi mods, thank you so much for getting back to us! We are excited and, after discussing it, we're all for whatever you come up with for a beast. We don't have any squicks or limitations concerning them. Time to live the scary arachnid life that they have been sheltered from thus far.

We did have one quick question: would we be needing the mods to thread things out concerning the monster fight or perhaps anything else to do with specific NPCs prior to them gaining enough notoriety with a(ny) seller(s)? If not, we figured we can start by doing a log with them snooping around the black market in general and make our way to them working on getting a better rep, but we don't want to bother you unnecessarily or accidentally go too far on our own without your input.

We have updated the Bestiary with the creature Childe and Kaeya will be hunting: The Falcetur, found in Sustellus.

No, you won't need our input this early on. You are free to thread out the monster encounter as well as meeting up with the NPCs afterwards. Once they gain a little notoriety we can offer a side NPC encounter that will give them some lore they can use later to further the Bebir quest.
